A 100-gallon reef, moved and maintained
A Raytown client brought us in during October 2023 to relocate an established 100-gallon reef, along with its water and livestock. The move became an ongoing partnership: twice-monthly care, controller and equipment troubleshooting, an RO/DI system, sump and skimmer setup, and help sourcing healthy livestock.

Your water in Raytown
Raytown Water Company buys its water from KC Water, which draws from the Missouri River and wells in the Missouri River aquifer. KC Water softens the water with lime and adds a disinfectant, and its 2025 water quality report lists a pH of 10.1 and total alkalinity as high as 216 mg/L. For an aquarium, that means tap water always needs a conditioner that neutralizes the disinfectant, and reef tanks need RO/DI water so their chemistry starts from a clean, stable base. We test your source water at the first visit, and if your home is on a different supplier, we plan around that instead.
